Dave Bainbridge is the Assistant Chief of the Enforcement Division of Fair Political Practices Commission. Dave has been with the Enforcement Division for over 6 years. During that time, he has prosecuted numerous cases involving violations of the lobbying provisions of the Political Reform Act, including cases involving unreported activity and shadow lobbying. He also provides trainings to FPPC staff on the PRA’s lobbying provisions as well as supervising and mentoring attorneys newer to the FPPC. And, in 2017, he prosecuted a sitting District Attorney for multiple violations of the personal use provisions of the PRA.
Prior to working at the FPPC he served as staff counsel to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the Governor’s Office. Before that he worked for a private law firm practicing civil litigation and transactional law. Dave received his law degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and obtained his undergraduate degree from University of California, Davis.
