The West Virginia State Bar requires attorneys to complete 24 credits, including 3 credits in legal ethics, office management, substance abuse, and/or elimination of bias in the legal profession, by June 30 of even years. All credits must be reported by July 31 of even years. Attorneys are limited to 12 credits of online instruction per compliance period. A maximum of 6 general credits may be carried over to the next compliance period. No legal ethics, office management, substance abuse and/or elimination of bias in the legal profession credits may be carried over.
