CPD for Alberta

View All CPD

CPD Requirements: The Law Society of Alberta requires attorneys to complete CPD credit hours by September 30 of each year. While there is no mandatory minimum hourly requirement, attorneys must make an annual CPD declaration that they have made a CPD Plan, including a range of learning activities relevant to their professional development. For additional information, please see the Rules of the Law Society of Alberta.

Completing Your CPD Requirements with PLI: All PLI products can fulfill Alberta’s CPD requirements. There is no limit to the number of credits an attorney can earn via PLI products.

Attendance Reporting: Attorneys must declare their CPD Plan via the Lawyer Portal. The CPD declaration period is from July 1 – September 30. Please keep a copy of your PLI certificates for your records.
