CLE Requirements: The Virgin Islands Bar Association requires all active members to complete 24 hours of continuing legal education in 2 calendar years, 4 of which shall be ethics or professionalism, 4 of which shall be in Virgin Islands Law Programming, 2 of which shall be in Technology Programming, and 1 of which shall be in Mental Health & Substance Abuse Programming. Last names A-K start January 1 in odd number years, complete by December 31 of following even number year, file report by the following January 31. Completing Your Virgin Islands Requirements with PLI: PLI’s live programs and live webcasts are categorized as Moderated Programming. PLI’s on-demand programs are categorized as Non-Moderated Programming with Interactivity as a Key Component. There is no limit to the number of credits an attorney can earn via PLI products.
PLI is an Approved Providers of General and Ethics and Professionalism Programming under MCLE Reg. 12. View CLE programs or ethics programs approved in the Virgin Islands. PLI’s Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders Programming and Technology Programming is approved under MCLE Reg. 11. Reciprocal Jurisdictions.
Attendance Reporting: Per the Virgin Islands Bar Association, every active (regular, special, pro hac vice) member shall be responsible for ascertaining whether the particular course satisfies the requirements of Rule 208. Further, this Rule establishes a self-reporting system. Members are responsible for uploading their CLE credits to the website, after which, they are reviewed and approved or denied.
