William Frommer is a founding partner of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP, now known as Haug Partners.  He has extensive experience in all aspects of patent and trademark law and particular expertise in electronics, computers, and software in the patent field.  

Mr. Frommer represents a number of major electronics and computer multi-national corporations, companies in the biotechnology field, and several universities and not-for-profit organizations.  He is involved with counseling and licensing, and supervises a large international patent and trademark preparation practice.  Mr. Frommer works closely with emerging companies to assist them in their developments and licensing of new technology and in attracting capital.  

He presently is active in the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section, where he had chaired an ad hoc subcommittee on Patent and Trademark Office practice, the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, the International Trademark Association and the International Patent and Trademark Association.  He has lectured in the United States and in Japan on legal points of interest and new developments in the United States patent laws.

Prior to the founding of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP, Mr. Frommer was a partner for more than twenty years in the firm of Curtis, Morris & Safford, P.C. where he had been a member of the executive committee and the firm chairman. Mr. Frommer worked as an avionics and computer design engineer with Bendix Corporation and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before he joined the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner in the digital communications arts.

Mr. Frommer obtained his juris doctor degree in 1969 from American University, where he was a member of The Law Review, and his bachelor of electrical engineering degree in 1965 from Cornell University, where he was nominated to the eta kappa nu honor society.
