Victoria Barbary is a senior analyst in the Office of the Chairman at Monitor Group, where she develops intellectual content for the firm. Her primary focus is on the behavior of sovereign wealth funds, an ongoing initiative in which she plays a leading role. In addition to coordinating and writing Monitor’s quarterly updates on sovereign wealth fund (SWF) behavior, she has also authored Testing Time: Sovereign Wealth Funds in the Middle East & North Africa and the Global Financial Crisis, made extensive contributions to Weathering the Storm: Sovereign Wealth Funds in the Global Economic Crisis of 2008, and was the lead author on Monitor’s most recent SWF annual report, Back on Course: Sovereign Wealth Fund Activity in 2009. She is regularly interviewed on the subjects by the international TV and print media. Ms. Barbary graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2007 with a Ph.D. in History; she also has an M.A. (with distinction) and a B.A. (Hons) in History from the University of Durham.
