Vicki King Taitano was the Director of the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau’s Foreclosure Legal Assistance Project from 2010 until July 13 of this year.  She is now Program Counsel for Legal Services Corporation, in Washington D.C. As director of the foreclosure project, she and a staff of five attorneys and a paralegal represented Maryland homeowners at all stages of foreclosure, including negotiations with lenders, mediation, litigation, bankruptcy and appeals. She participated in the governor’s task force on foreclosure which made sweeping changes to Maryland’s laws as a result of the foreclosure crisis.  She has also participated in White House and HUD forums on the foreclosure crisis and mortgage lending issues. She is a graduate of Boston University and the University of Hawaii Law School.
