Since 1985, Vicki E. Light has worked with The Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Practice (JRP) as an attorney representing children in the NYC Family Court system.   Vicki is currently the legal point person for the Bronx office’s Trauma Advocacy Project, a project concentrating on coordinating the representation of subject children in sexual and physical abuse cases.   In addition to her direct representation, Vicki has participated in local and national trainings on the subjects of domestic violence, the representation of abused and neglected children and addressing secondary trauma stress in a non-profit legal setting.   Vicki also participates in many committees.   She is chairperson of JRP’s committee on Secondary Trauma Stress.  In the Bronx Family Court, Vicki is the chairperson of its’ Teen Day committee and a member of the Early Engagement Group.    Vicki also is a member of the Bronx County Multidisciplinary Alliance on Child Abuse, a team of professionals who work with abused children in this borough. For 19 summers, Vicki volunteered at Birch Family Camp, a camp for families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.   Vicki holds a BA from University of Pennsylvania, JD from Washington University School of Law and an MPH from Harvard School of Public Health.
