Veronica L. Spicer

Veronica L. Spicer is Senior Counsel for Enforcement Policy and Strategy (Midwest Region) for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Her work includes leading the Office of Enforcement mortgage origination and student finance issue teams. In addition to Enforcement matters, Veronica works as a liaison to the state attorneys general on issues related to information-sharing and general coordination and communication.

Prior to her position at the CFPB, Veronica was a Senior Enforcement Attorney in the Chicago office of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Before that, she served as the predatory lending unit supervisor for the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau. Veronica has also worked in private practice at Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago, Illinois and as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Chicago. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School. Immediately after law school, Veronica clerked for the Hon. Kathryn H. Vratil in the District Court of Kansas and then the Hon. Terrence T. Evans in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
