Taken from the briefing University Policies and Progress: Inclusion and Assistance for Immigrant Communities recorded May, 2017 in New York.

Recognizing that several immigration policy positions and Executive Orders advanced by the new Administration on January 25, 2017 give rise to heightened insecurity, fear and unconstitutional discrimination against communities on the basis of religion, race, ethnicity, and national identity---universities, colleges, and other institutions of higher education across the country are evolving institution and system-wide policies to foster inclusion, protect civil rights and civil liberties, advance equal access to education, and combat unconstitutional discrimination.
