Trudy Rebert works to enforce and advance the rights of low-income immigrants through litigation, technical assistance, and administrative advocacy. Her main areas of focus include defending DACA, immigration enforcement, and workers’ rights issues. She is part of the legal team litigating Batalla Vidal v. Nielsen challenging the Trump administration's termination of the DACA. Before joining the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) in 2017, Rebert served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lorna G. Schofield of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and was a Skadden Fellow and staff attorney with the New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice (NOWCRJ). At NOWCRJ, where she provided legal, policy, and strategic support to membership groups of guest workers, Black workers, and day laborers in New Orleans. Rebert previously worked with the Inspection Panel at the World Bank and on labor and migration issues in India. She holds a B.A. from Macalester College, an M.Sc. in Migration, Mobility and Development from the University of London (SOAS), and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was a member of the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic.
