Tina M. Bird is a Partner in the Construction Law Group at the Chicago law firm Freeborn & Peters, LLP, where her practice focuses on all aspects of the construction process.  Ms. Bird is extensively involved in the drafting, negotiating and litigation of contracts for owners, architects and engineers, general contractors and subcontractors on both local and national projects.  In addition, Ms. Bird has extensive experience before federal and state courts and the American Arbitration Association litigating all manner of construction disputes, including mechanics’ lien claims, defect, delay and acceleration claims, contract disputes, and real estate and zoning issues.  Ms. Bird is a past chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Construction and Mechanics Lien Committee and is co-author of the ABA Forum on Construction publication:  The Construction Contracts Book.  She is also a member of the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys, the Federation of Women Contractors and the Construction Financial Management Association’s Chicago chapter.  Ms. Bird has been named a Rising Star and Leading Lawyer in the area of construction law and lectures frequently on construction topics for Illinois Continuing Legal Education, Lorman, Half Moon and the Chicago Bar Association.
