Timothy T. Hesler, Director in KPMG's Financial Risk Management practice leads the Treasury and Risk Advisory Services group and has more than 20 years of management advisory and corporate experience. He brings a broad skill set in various industries and performance improvement experience with large global organizations. Tim specializes in treasury management and financial risk for large corporations, specifically cash management, banking, cash flow forecasting, investments, debt, currency and interest rate risk, treasury systems, internal controls and working capital management. Prior to joining KPMG, Tim was an advisory director for ten years at PricewaterhouseCoopers providing process, strategy, internal control and technology assistance to companies in all aspects of treasury activities. 

Professional and Industry Experience
Tim has substantial experience leading corporate Treasury and Finance advisory engagements across numerous industries at non-audit and audit clients. He has served as the engagement leader for such projects spanning the creation of new Treasury departments, to spin-off company assistance, to internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley projects, to treasury assistance in a mergers and acquisitions environment, to best practice reviews and also to treasury technology engagements. He has also provided subject matter knowledge and guidance to client Treasurers, CFOs and Finance Committees.

Prior to his consulting career, Tim spent four years at Novartis where he was responsible for cash management, investment/debt portfolios, foreign exchange and bank relationship oversight. Tim was also responsible for the continual modification of the companies' treasury and working capital management operations. 

Tim is a frequent speaker at industry conferences like the Association for Financial Professional (AFP) Annual Conference and the Global Treasurer's Forum, as well as the New York Cash Exchange and Treasury and Risk conferences. He has published several articles on treasury management including his most recent article in AFP Exchange, "Treasury Outlook for 2010". 

Tim is a member of the AFP's Body of Knowledge Committee and is the Chair, Advisory Board for TMI USA magazine.  Tim has been the President of the Treasury Management Association of New York (TMANY) from 2005 - 2006 and 2009 - 2010.  He is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Union College, and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Columbia University.
