Tim Husson is an Associate Director in the Risk and Examinations Office of the Division of Investment Management, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  In this role, he oversees the management and operations of data analysis and examination projects in the Division and provides guidance on complex financial and quantitative topics.  His analytical work focuses on issues surrounding private funds, exchange-traded funds, and complex investment strategies.  He has extensive experience with Form PF, Form ADV, and MIDAS data sets, and has spearheaded numerous quantitative investigations and research programs across the Commission.

Before joining the SEC, he was a Senior Financial Economist at SLCG, an economic consulting firm in Fairfax, Virginia, where he provided quantitative research and analysis in support of expert testimony and regulatory proceedings.  He has coauthored numerous research papers on exotic financial products, financial markets, and complex securities, available online from SSRN.

Dr. Husson holds a BA and Ph.D in Computational Neuroscience from the University of Chicago.  His scientific work focused on the development and applications of a novel neural imaging technique.
