Thomas A. Jones

Tom advises on transactions involving derivatives and structured finance across a variety of asset classes including credit, equity and commodities. In addition to transactional work, he has also advised clients on a variety of regulatory, risk management and dispute resolution issues relating to derivatives. Currently, he is advising clients on the impact that the regulatory changes arising from Dodd-Frank will have on their business as well as on several matters relating to Lehman Brothers. In addition, his experience includes international offerings of equity and debt securities, including SEC registered offerings, Rule 144A/Regulation S transactions and private placements in the United States.

Tom joined Allen & Overy in London in 1995 where he became a partner in 2000. In 2003, he relocated to the Hong Kong office where he practiced until 2008 following which he returned to the London office. He graduated with Honours from the University of Texas Law School in 1993 and he also has a B.A. from The Ohio State University and an M.A. from Kings College, University of London.
