Theresa Concepcion focuses her practice in the area of professional liability defense, including the defense of lawyers and law firms in professional liability claims as well as legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. Ms. Concepcion also has extensive experience in handling general commercial and business litigation matters in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Professional Background

Ms. Concepcion joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in 2013.

Ms. Concepcion began her legal career in 2007 as a law clerk to the Honorable Roberto A. Rivera-Soto of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. She went on to practice at large firms in New York and Philadelphia and in 2013, Ms. Concepcion was named to the Rising Stars list by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine, a distinction awarded to only 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state.

While at Cornell, she was an intern with the New York State Office of the Attorney General in New York City, and an extern in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Syracuse, New York. Among her law school achievements, Ms. Concepcion served as Editor of the Cornell Legal Information Institute; Academic Chair of the Latino American Law Student Association; and was a Member of the Moot Court Board.

Community/Civic Activities

Ms. Concepcion is very active in the community. She serves on the Cornell Law School Alumni Executive Board as well as on the Montclair State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Council. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Philadelphia County, which provides advocacy services for foster children removed from their homes due to abuse.
