Thea K. Davis received her BA in English from The University of Rochester and her JD from Brooklyn Law School.  After graduation she worked for The Administration for Children’s Services prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases, as well as extension of foster care cases.  In 2004, Ms. Davis began working at The New York City Law Department, Family Court Division, prosecuting juvenile delinquency cases. As a member of the Sex Crime Prosecution Unit she also handled sex offense cases and was trained in the forensic interviewing of children. In 2006 she became the Attorney-in-Charge of the Staten Island office of the Family Court Division where she supervised both delinquency and child support attorneys.  In 2010, Ms. Davis was appointed the Chief of the Special Victims Unit. As such she oversees all of the juvenile delinquency sex offense cases in the five boroughs of New York City.  She also participates in the District Attorney Association of NY (DAASNY) Sex Crimes and Family Violence Legislative Subcommittee, the Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Inter-Agency Operating Committees of all five Safe Horizon Child Advocacy Centers (CAC).
