Teresa Lynn Friend is the Director and Managing Attorney of the Justice & Diversity’s Homeless Advocacy Project. Teresa has overseen HAP’s provision of legal services to individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness for over 20 years. During that time, HAP has served over 40,000 clients. In addition to managing the office, Teresa continues to practice in the area of eviction defense. Teresa is a 1984 graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law, the University of California at Berkeley. After clerking for Chief Justice Rose Bird at the California Supreme Court, prior to joining HAP, Teresa was in private practice in Oakland, specializing in representation of tenants.
