Ted J. Chiappari, a partner at Satterlee Stephens LLP, concentrates his practice in the area of business immigration. He represents companies, not-for-profits and religious organizations seeking to acquire temporary work permits or permanent resident status for their foreign employees. He also advises on complex citizenship issues, maintenance of permanent resident status while abroad and tax aspects of international transfer of personnel. In addition, he has developed and conducted training programs on immigration for his clients, including a major New York City agency.

Admitted to practice in New York State, Mr. Chiappari is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and the American Council on Germany.  He has served as a panelist at AILA chapter and national conferences, as well as NJICLE and PLI conferences, and has written and edited numerous articles.  He previously co-authored a column in the New York Law Journal and served as an adjunct faculty member at Teachers College at Columbia University.

Mr. Chiappari has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Chambers USA, Who’s Who Legal, The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers.

Mr. Chiappari earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude (B.S.) from Santa Clara University.  Fluent in German, he studied political science and law for two years in Freiburg, Germany.  He received his law degree (J.D.) from Harvard University.
