Tacy F. Flint is a partner in the appellate practice group of Sidley Austin LLP. She has authored appellate briefs and critical motions concerning a wide range of legal issues in a variety of state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. She has extensive experience in intellectual property cases - including cases concerning patent, copyright, and trade secret law - and she has also handled matters concerning antitrust law, federal preemption, state and federal tax law, securities laws, injunction standards, contract disputes, federal jurisdiction, the First Amendment, and other issues. Tacy presents regularly at panels regarding legal developments at the Supreme Court, and she serves as an instructor in the Supreme Court Practice law clinic at Northwestern University. Prior to joining Sidley, Tacy served as a law clerk to Judge Richard Posner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Justice Stephen Breyer of the U.S. Supreme Court.
