SUE A ROSSLER-GOMEZ is Sr. Director, Assistant General Counsel responsible for Global Privacy at Western Digital Corporation (WDC) - a leading storage and flash memory storage solutions provider. Sue comes to WDC as part of the acquisition of SanDisk Corporation in May of 2016. In addition to building SanDisk’s global privacy office and partnering with IT on data security, Sue’s work over her 10 years at SanDisk spanned commercial transactions, licensing, global trade compliance (customs/export), anti-bribery/anti-corruption, third party intermediary diligence, semiconductor and supply chain, logistics and manufacturing, ecommerce, IT and business process outsourcing, and direct/indirect procurement. Prior to SanDisk, Sue spent 13 years at Sun Microsystems, Inc. (since acquired by Oracle) in various business and legal roles including products and operations counsel. She’s also held business roles at KLA Instruments, a semiconductor equipment provider and Zircon, a tools supply manufacturer. In addition to a JD, Sue has an LL.M in IP, an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science and a minor in Chemistry. She is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP), a member of the California State Bar and the American Bar Association, and sits on advisory board for the Santa Clara High Tech Law Institute. In addition to PLI, you can find Sue speaking at events such as ACC Advanced Compliance Summit, Stanford University Ecommerce Best Practices, and the American Conference Institute. She is past chair of the Los Gatos Community Services Commission and serves as an occasional pro bono Fee Arbitrator for the Santa Clara County Bar Association. She is a golfer, a runner and loves the outdoors.
