Stacy has over eleven years of experience with KPMG LLP. Since 2005, Stacy has provided technical accounting advisory services to various clients on a range of technical accounting topics. Prior to joining the Transaction Services, Accounting Advisory Services – Technical, Stacy worked in the Audit Practice of KPMG for three years, with a focus on Consumer Industrial Markets.

From April 2007 to July 2008, Stacy was an Associate Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”). During the tenure of her fellowship, Stacy worked on various FASB and Emerging Issues Task Force projects related to consolidation and securitization. Stacy led FASB board meetings, interacted with constituents and responded to technical inquiries. Stacy was instrumental in drafting revisions to FASB Statement No. 140 (“FAS 140”) and FASB Interpretation No. 46 (“FIN 46R”). Professional and Industry Experience

While at KPMG, she has consulted with a variety of clients to provide technical accounting and advisory services.  Technical accounting areas of focus include consolidation, securitizations, transfers of financial assets, financial instruments, business combinations, and SEC reporting.  Such accounting advice is provided under both US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”).
  • Manage a broad range of accounting implementation, transaction analysis, and “on-call” advisory services.
  • Significantly involved in an ongoing project to implement and comply with FAS 166, FAS 167 and FIN 46R. 
  • Supports several audit engagement teams in the audit of their respective clients’ securitization activities by evaluating sale accounting and derecognition, as well as consolidation of related variable interest entities or special purpose entities. 
  • Assist companies in various industries with lease accounting considerations, including lease classification, sale-leaseback and leveraged lease issues.
  • Advise and assist companies with the transition to a Bank Holding Company and reorganization activities.
  • Worked on the Statement 140 Implementation: Transfers of Financial Assets Project, Reconsideration of Interpretation 46(R) Project, and FIN 46(R) and FAS 140 – Disclosure Requirements Project at the FASB. 
  • Worked on various Emerging Issues Task Force (“EITF”) Issues while at the FASB.
  • Audited various consumer industrial public entities.
