Sosimo is currently the Chief of the Special Litigation Unit of the Tort Division at the New York City Law Department.  The Unit handles a variety of high exposure and complex tort cases on behalf of the City of New York.  Prior to becoming the Chief of the Unit, Sosimo was a trial attorney and handled many complex cases on behalf of the City of New York.

Sosimo also serves as the Law Department’s Diversity and EEO Officer.  In that capacity, Sosimo oversees a number of EEO Officers stationed throughout the Law Department, and he ensures that the agency is complying with EEO laws and the City’s EEO policies.  Sosimo is a seasoned provider of CLE programs on EEO requirements as well as other substantive legal issues and skills trainings.

Prior to law school, Sosimo received his doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Georgetown University.  Thereafter, he attended CUNY Law, where he served on the Law Review and was recognized for his moot court achievement.  He was also recognized as the Puerto Rican Legal Defense & Education Fund Corporate Scholar in 2003.  Sosimo is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the United States District Court, S.D.N,Y. and E.D.N.Y., as well as being admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.
