Sheila Martinez-Lemke is Counsel at Weaver Austin Villeneuve & Sampson.

Ms. Martinez-Lemke focuses her practice on counselling universities and startups in strategic development of international patent portfolios to commercialize their technologies and further innovation. Her practice includes preparation and prosecution of patent applications, patent appeals, drafting non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and clearance studies. Ms. Martinez-Lemke has technical expertise in the areas of optics, image processing, microfluidics, electrochromics, aerospace composite airframes, fuel cells, and biomedical devices. 

Prior to law school, Ms. Martinez-Lemke was a project manager for research and development programs at Northrop-Grumman, where she oversaw manufacturing and testing operations involving shielding on a reusable rocket for launching low-orbit satellites, on-aircraft field testing of thermoplastic and thermoset composite parts, design and strength testing of bonded repair in carbon-fiber composite laminates, and aerodynamically and elastically optimizing carbon fiber airframes for a supersonic commercial aircraft.

Before to joining Weaver Austin Villeneuve & Sampson, Ms. Martinez-Lemke was a senior associate at Townsend and Townsend and Crew, LLP and a patent associate at Baker Botts, LLP.
