Sharon R. Apple is an Associate General Counsel for Nestlé Nutrition North America.  As the lead employment lawyer for several Nestlé businesses, Sharon provides counseling to various Nestlé entities on labor and employment matters and general commercial business matters impacting a multinational consumer products goods company (e.g., marketing/advertising, products liability).  She also manages the drafting and negotiation of various agreements such as temporary staffing, noncompetes, supply and co-manufacturing, general services, licensing, confidentiality, spokesperson/sponsorship, and sweepstakes/contests rules.

When wearing her employment law hat, Sharon advises Human Resources on day-to-day matters relating to recruiting, discharging, performance management, discipline, department downsizing and restructuring, labor management and contract negotiations, qualified leave benefits, reasonable accommodation obligations, administration of employee personnel policies and employee complaint investigations, and conducts various employment law trainings.  Sharon also manages employment law litigation and administrative complaints.   She has extensive experience with individual employment discrimination claims, complex wage/hour litigation and audits, federal contractor obligations and OFCCP audits, EEOC and state agency discrimination investigations and complaints, and government agency supervised settlements. 

Prior to joining Nestlé Nutrition in 2006, Sharon was an Associate at Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti LLP, based in Morristown, New Jersey.  Sharon received her Bachelor of Arts from Douglass College at Rutgers University in 1995, her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif) in 2001 and her Masters of Arts in International Relations from Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs in 2001.  

While pursuing her law degree, Sharon was the Staff Editor and Form and Accuracy Executive Editor for the Syracuse Law Review, a member of the International Law Moot Court Team and a Class Senate Vice President.  During her summers while in law school, Sharon served as a summer intern law clerk to the Honorable William H. Walls of the U.S. District Court of New Jersey and at the Department of Justice, Office of Immigration Litigation, in Washington, D.C.

Sharon is admitted in New Jersey and the United States District Court of New Jersey.  She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the America Corporate Counsel Association.

When Sharon is not working as an attorney, she manages her other, most rewarding, full time job as a mother of three children: Shayne, Sophie and Sydney.
