Sean Mullaney is a Director in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Washington National Tax Services office. Sean advises U.S. and foreign multinational clients regarding cross border mergers and acquisitions, deferral planning, and cash deployment planning. Sean frequently writes and speaks on tax issues affecting U.S. investment overseas.

Sean rejoined PwC in January 2011 after working in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, International Division. While at Chief Counsel he served as primary author of several pieces of published guidance, including regulations under sections 304, 367, and 1248. He worked on cases and rulings involving the international tax consequences of cross border mergers and acquisitions.  Sean also has four years of tax experience in practice offices of PwC and Deloitte & Touche.

Education & Credentials

Sean earned a B.S.B.A. magna cum laude, in Accounting from Georgetown University, a J.D., magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law, and a LL.M. in Taxation, with Distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center.  He is a certified public account licensed in the District of Columbia and Virginia and is a member of the bar in Virginia.
