Sarah Casey Otte, Assistant Director, Office of Derivatives Policy, Division of Trading and Markets, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ms. Otte is an Assistant Director in the Office of Derivatives Policy in the Division of Trading and Markets. The mandate of the Office of Derivatives Policy includes rulemaking to further define Title VII derivatives and administering the new product provisions contained in Section 717 and 718 of the Dodd-Frank Act, as well as overseeing the Division of Trading and Markets' international efforts in the Title VII derivatives area. Prior to her current position, Ms. Otte served for two years as a member of the Financial Stability Board secretariat in Basel, Switzerland. She previously served the Commission as counsel to Commissioner Aguilar and as a senior counsel in the Office of International Affairs. Before joining the SEC, Ms. Otte practiced corporate and securities law in the New York and London offices of Cravath, Swaine & Moore and the Frankfurt office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. Ms. Otte is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and The University of Texas School of Law.
