Sara Silvia Taylor graduated from New York University School of Law and is a member of the California State Bar. She holds a bachelor's degree in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated with high honors and Phi Beta Kappa.

Ms. Taylor has advocated for immigrants' rights since 2006. Before starting her own practice, she represented hundreds of clients at two well regarded immigration law firms in the Bay Area. Before that, she completed a law fellowship at the Immigration Center for Women and Children. At NYU Law, she was a member of the Immigrant Rights Clinic. At U.C. Berkeley, she volunteered at several non-profits devoted to helping immigrants seek legal aid.

Ms. Taylor is experienced in a wide variety of immigration matters and has successfully defended clients before the San Francisco Immigration Court, U.S. Citizenship & Naturalization Services, Administrative Appeals Office, Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. At the Ninth Circuit, she argued successfully for an asylum applicant found not credible due to return trips that occurred prior to the applicant's final decision to flee. Bishnu Subedi Sharma v. Lynch, No. 13-71501, 2016 U.S. LEXIS 6294 (9th Cir. Apr. 6, 2016).

Ms. Taylor is a regular volunteer at the San Francisco Immigration Court's Attorney of the Day program, La Raza Centro Legal's bi-monthly immigration clinic, and the Alameda County Bar Association's monthly legal clinic. She also volunteers her time as a Co-Director for the Education/Program Division for the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Northern California Chapter (AILA NorCal). She is the daughter of South American immigrants and is a native Spanish-speaker.
