Sara DeSmith, Partner, National Professional Services

As a partner in the Accounting Services Group of the National Office, Sara advises clients and engagement teams on complex accounting and financial reporting matters, including the application of new accounting standards and SEC regulations. She is responsible for developing thought leadership on new and emerging topics to help companies understand and prepare for the implications of changing standards in the capital markets.

Sara has a particular expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards and US GAAP conversions. She is part of PwC's Global Accounting Consulting Services network, working to establish consistent global policies for IFRS application.   

Sara has over 20 years of experience serving companies across many industries. She is a frequent lecturer on IFRS convergence and first-time adoption matters, as well as the impact of the Dodd Frank Act on non-financial services sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from St. Bonaventure University. She is a licensed CPA in New York and New Jersey and is a board member of the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy. Sara is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
