SANDRA ROBERTS-STOKES is a Child Support Attorney IV with Alameda County DCSS and has worked in the child support program since 2002 when she became a Deputy District Attorney for Alameda County, later transitioning the Department of Child Support Services.  She received her Bachelor of Science with Honors in Accounting from California State University, Hayward (1979) and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Hastings (1982).  She became a member of the California State Bar in November 1982.  Upon graduation from law school, having passed the Certified Public Accountants’ examination, she worked 2 1/2 years in the Tax Department of Arthur Young & Co. where she focused on estate tax planning and probate accountings.   Ms. Roberts-Stokes went into private practice of the law with her husband and father in late 1984 where she became the managing partner and handled the firm’s family law and probate matters for 18 years.  She has taught accounting at Laney College and for the past eight years she has taught on the topic of Child and Spousal Support for the Alameda County Bar Association Volunteer Legal Services Corporation.  She and her husband Danny have been married for 31 years and have two adult children who they enjoy traveling with.
