Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer


    Royce is a partner in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Hong Kong office and leads Freshfields’ financial services practice in Asia. Prior to joining Freshfields at the beginning of 2010, Royce was at Citigroup in Hong Kong and Europe for 16 years, where he was most recently Managing Director and General Counsel for Citi’s institutional businesses across Asia.

    Royce has substantial experience in an extremely wide range of legal and regulatory issues relating to financial institutions and has recently advised various international banks, insurers, broker-dealers and fund managers on business sales, establishment, licensing, marketing, investigations, conduct of business and compliance issues.

    Royce is a top-tier ranked regulatory lawyer in Chambers Asia 2014, Asia-Pacific Legal 500 2015 and IFLR1000 2015. Clients affirm that Royce has “a wealth of experience and gives good advice on complex regulatory matters”.

    Royce is admitted in Hong Kong, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. He graduated from Harvard College and the New York University School of Law.
