Roxanne Hoegger Alejandre has practiced family law since 2002. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from UC Berkeley and her J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law.

Roxanne is a staff attorney in the domestic violence unit of Bay Area Legal Aid's, San Francisco office. After graduating from law school, she joined Bay Area Legal Aid as an Equal Justice Works Fellow to provide prevention and intervention services to teen domestic violence victims and survivors. During law school, Roxanne authored a law review article that was published in the UC Berkeley Women's Law Journal, addressing domestic violence cases under the Hague Convention, which has been cited by the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh and Eleventh Circuits. Roxanne also participated in U.C. Berkeley's domestic violence clinic as an intern for the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.

Roxanne has substantial experience litigating contested family law hearings and trials. She was the lead trial attorney in a case that successfully challenged a prenuptial agreement based on the lack of financial disclosures. She also assisted with defending the appeal of this matter and filing a cross appeal. She has appeared pro hac vice in Oklahoma court and successfully handled a trial involving interstate custody, international child abduction, and domestic violence.

During her time in private family law practice, Roxanne worked on cases involving complex property issues such as the division of closely held business interests and stock options, the discovery of hidden assets, and breaches of fiduciary duties. She also collaborated with many well-known forensic experts including child custody evaluators, accountants, private judges, and mediators.

Roxanne is a San Francisco native and lives with her family in San Francisco.
