Robin Greenwald manages Weitz & Luxenberg’s Environmental Tort and Consumer Protection Unit. She has held this position since 2005.  Ms. Greenwald has extensive knowledge and experience managing and trying complex mass and class litigation.  

Ms. Greenwald has devoted the past 30-plus years to obtaining justice for the public.  She began as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (“AUSA”) for the Eastern District of New York, where she served for 11 years, followed by six years as an Assistant Chief of the Environmental Crimes Section, Department of Justice, in Washington, D.C., where she was in charge of Legislation, Policy and Special Litigation.  She was then appointed as General Counsel for the Inspector General, U.S. Department of the Interior.

After 19 yeas of government service, Ms. Greenwald became the Executive Director of Waterkeeper Alliance, an international water protection advocacy not-for-profit organization. She then became an Associate Clinical Professor of Law at Rutgers Law School – Newark, where she taught Environmental Law and Evidence and supervised approximately 20 students each semester in the environmental law clinic.  

Over the past decade, Ms. Greenwald has led the Environmental Tort and Consumer Protection Unit at Weitz & Luxenberg.  During this time, she has held leadership positions in several multi-district litigations and mass actions. Relevant to this conference, she is co-lead of the data breach litigation against Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield litigation pending in Rochester, New York.
