Richard is a partner in the National Accounting Standards Group of McGladrey LLP. His responsibilities include consulting with clients and engagement teams on complex accounting issues, facilitating training events for McGladrey professionals and external participants, and writing interpretive guidance for McGladrey publications. He also is responsible for monitoring standard setting and preparing Firm comment letters on proposed standards issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF), Private Company Council (PCC) and International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Additionally, Rich has served on a number of FASB, EITF, and AICPA working groups. His areas of expertise include revenue recognition, software revenue recognition, consolidations, leasing transactions, and International Financial Reporting Standards.

Before joining McGladrey, Rich worked for two major international companies in roles in which he was responsible for the development of accounting policies and establishing company positions on complex accounting matters. Rich also has experience as a project manager on the staff of the FASB and in the Accounting Standards Division of the AICPA. Rich also worked for a major accounting firm as a manager in the National Accounting Office. His responsibilities in that role included researching complex accounting issues, developing guidance, and training staff and clients on new accounting standards.
