Rich is a Managing Director and Co-General Counsel - Europe, Middle East and Africa - of Morgan Stanley. Rich presently Co-chairs the European Franchise Committee and sits on the Firm's European Equity Underwriting and European Restructuring Committees. Rich is also a Director of Morgan Stanley Bank International Limited.

Rich is a member of the FSA General Counsel's Advisory Group, as well as is a member of the European Advisory Committee of the Practising Law Institute.

Prior to assuming his role in London, Rich was based in New York with Morgan Stanley. He advised mainly on Investment Banking and Private Equity matters, and also provided extensive advice on international matters.

Rich graduated from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, with a BS in Economics in 1977 and an MBA in 1978.  Rich received his JD from New York University in 1981 and was a member of the Law Review. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1987, Rich was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell, and spent two years in S&C's London Office.
