Rick Marsh focuses his practice on intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, patent validity and infringement evaluations, and litigation support. In particular, his experience includes:

  • Patent Portfolio Management — Overseeing development of patent portfolios (domestic and international) and developing and implementing IP strategies for generating and monetizing patent portfolios
  • Freedom to Operate/Competitive Landscape — Providing strategic risk analysis for freedom-to-operate and patent enforcement evaluations, including experience evaluating the infringement, validity and enforceability of patents, as well as providing design-around analysis concerning new and current products
  • Post-Grant Patent Proceedings — Focusing in post-grant patent proceedings, including prosecuting complex re-issue and re-examination patent applications and serving as lead counsel in multiple inter-partes review proceedings
  • Litigation Support — Assisting on patent litigation matters by providing legal analysis of technical documents for infringement contentions, as well as analyzing prior art documents and formulating invalidity strategies
  • Technical Expertise — Leveraging technical training to assist clients in various technologies, including electronics, optics, software, computer networking and storage, mechanical systems, telecommunications, financial services, and medical devices.
