Richard LaFalce is an Assistant Branch Chief in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel - Financial Institutions & Products. This component of the Office of Chief Counsel provides legal support on tax laws involving banks, thrifts, insurance companies, and other financial institutions. It is also responsible for the tax laws relating to financial products and instruments, including options, forwards, futures contracts, debt instruments, hedging arrangements and other sophisticated financial products. Upon joining the IRS, Mr. LaFalce focused his practice on the taxation of Regulated Investment Companies and other pass-through entities.  Mr. LaFalce received his law degree from George Washington University in 2005 and his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in 2001. Mr. LaFalce is a member of the New York State Bar.
