Ellen Auwarter is a seasoned marketing, communications and business development executive who has been working with professional services firms for more than 15 years.  After practicing litigation and employment law in her first career and serving for 10 years in various marketing, consulting and operational roles, Ellen joined Duane Morris in January 2010.

Ellen is particularly strong in building and sustaining relationships with internal and external clients; strategic planning and analysis within a consensus-based partnership; navigating across departmental lines to maximize cross-selling and identify business development opportunities; designing and implementing processes and systems to increase efficiencies; coaching to enhance revenue generation, productivity and retention; and managing a firm's marketing and business development efforts.

Prior to Duane Morris, Ellen worked in-house at three best-in-class professional services firms: as US marketing head of Lovells LLP, then the sixth largest UK-based firm with 26 global offices; as senior marketing manager at Top-10, AmLaw A-List- ranked Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP; and as senior marketing manager in Deloitte & Touche LLP's national banking and finance industry practice.  Before Deloitte, Ellen spent three years at the New York New Media Association (NYNMA), the largest industry association for new media and technology in the country at the height of the dot-com boom.

Ellen was the 2008 Financial Officer of the Legal Marketing Association, Metro NY Chapter ("NYLMA"), and a founding member of NYLMA's Careers in Transition ("CIT") Task Force.  A program Ellen helped design for the CIT Task Force won second place in LMA's Your Honor Awards/Chapter Category Competition at its 2010 Annual Conference

For the past 10 years, Ellen has fundraised and volunteered extensively for the New York Chapter of the National MS Society and the MS Center at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.  Since 1991, she has been a member of The University Club, where she serves on the Council, the Club's governing body.  In her spare time, Ellen indulges her passion for cabaret singing.

Ellen received her JD from Fordham University School of Law, where she was Articles Editor of the Fordham International Law Journal and a Teaching Assistant in the First-Year Legal Writing Program, and her BA from Mount Holyoke College in American Studies.
