Rachel G. Skaistis is a partner in Cravath's Litigation Department.

Her practice currently focuses on board advisory work and investigations, including counseling boards of directors, board committees and senior management in connection with SEC inquiries, shareholder demands, accounting restatements, matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, governance issues and other special situations. Ms. Skaistis also handles a wide variety of litigation matters, including securities, antitrust, employment, arbitrations, appeals, bankruptcy and general commercial/contract.
Ms. Skaistis currently is representing Huron Consulting Group Inc. in connection with state and federal securities and derivative actions, as well as an SEC investigation. She is also advising INEOS in a number of commercial contract disputes both in the United States and internationally. Ms. Skaistis was part of the team defending Time Warner Inc., and various of its officers and directors, against securities, ERISA and derivative claims filed in federal and state court.  Her other clients have included: Credit Suisse, Deloitte & Touche, Qualcomm, JPMorgan Chase, Novartis, Xerox and members of the boards of Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, General Electric Company and MetLife, Inc.

Ms. Skaistis currently serves on the advisory board for the National Women's Law Center. She also devotes substantial time to pro bono service. Ms. Skaistis is one of the liaison partners for Cravath's relationship with Montefiore Children's Hospital and Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, through which the Firm represents patients who need legal services related to their medical care.  Ms. Skaistis also is the liaison partner for inMotion, an organization that procures pro bono legal services for low-income women and children.
Ms. Skaistis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received a B.A. in 1992 from Yale University. After graduating from Yale, Ms. Skaistis worked as a newspaper reporter in Fort Worth, Texas. She first joined Cravath in 1997, the year she received a J.D. cum laude from Cornell, where she was Managing Editor of the Cornell Law Review. In 1999, Ms. Skaistis served a one-year clerkship with Hon. Shira A. Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She returned to the Firm in fall 2000 and became a partner in 2005.
