Professor Debra Lyn Bassett is the Justice Marshall F. McComb Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School.  The author of five books, three book chapters, and more than twenty-five law review articles, Professor Bassett's scholarship addresses three primary areas-legal ethics, procedural issues in the federal courts, and the significance of place.  Her articles have appeared in such journals as the George Washington Law Review, Washington University Law Quarterly, Boston University Law Review, Fordham Law Review, Iowa Law Review, Georgia Law Review, Hastings Law Journal, Brigham Young University Law Review, and the North Carolina Law Review. She teaches Civil Procedure, Federal Jurisdiction, and Class Actions, and is the recipient of three teaching awards.  Before teaching, she clerked for the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and practiced law with Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco. She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, School of Law, and is a member of the American Law Institute and Order of the Coif.
