Pravin Rao is a Litigation partner in the Chicago office of Perkins Coie.  He also serves as firmwide Chair of the White Collar & Investigations practice, which was recognized in 2013 as Chicago’s best white collar defense practice of the year by The National Law Journal.  Pravin draws on his unique background as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney and SEC Enforcement Branch Chief to provide comprehensive representation and counseling to individuals and companies on a wide variety of complex criminal and civil regulatory matters.  He regularly conducts internal investigations in significant and sensitive areas, including those with FCPA, financial fraud, anti-trust, securities, and corporate governance issues.  Pravin has served as the DOJ/SEC-appointed FCPA Corporate Monitor of a multinational corporation to assess its anticorruption compliance program.  He has been quoted extensively in national media outlets on white collar issues, especially as they relate to SEC Enforcement initiatives.  Pravin received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, his M.B.A. in Finance from the Olin Business School at Washington University, and his B.S. in Pure Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
