Background

Prasadh, as a lead partner oversees and manages global audit teams along with statutory audits in various other countries. He provides various consulting services to non-audit clients and works with software/cloud sell-side equity analysts on emerging accounting issues and industry trends. His varied experiences in the standard setting, regulatory, and auditing arenas provide him skill sets to manage large teams and to make tough decisions in an effective manner. Prasadh is also KPMG’s current representative on AICPA Software  Revenue  Recognition Task  Force.

Professional and Industry Experience

Prasadh has experience in overseeing and managing global audit teams along with the statutory audits in various other countries. Prasadh advises clients’ work through complex transactions, M&A and capital raising transactions from the commercial structure perspective and acts as a project manager for implementation of new accounting standards involving systems, process and accounting changes. Prasadh also actively works with product development teams at various business application software companies to ensure that the software developed complies with accounting rules.

Prasadh has spent time in KPMG’s National Office in developing thought leadership publications, helping clients and engagement teams resolve complex accounting issues, and teaching technical accounting topics at training events and webcasts. Prasadh also served as National Office liaison for certain KPMG clients.

Prasadh spent over two years as a Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) specializing in revenue recognition matters and led the development of few accounting standards which involved actively working with prepares, equity analysts, regulators and auditors.

Prior to his various national roles, he served a number of software, technology, biotech and pharmaceutical clients in the Silicon Valley and the New Jersey/ New York areas.  Prior to that he was in KPMG India where he assisted technology companies with initial public offering, including the second Indian company to be listed on the NASDAQ.

Publications and Speaking Engagements

  • At the FASB, Prasadh led or co-led efforts with the development of few standards, including:
    • ASU 2009-13 Revenue Recognition: Multiple-Deliverable Revenue Arrangements
    • ASU 2009-14, Software: Certain Revenue Arrangements That Include Software Elements
    • ASU 2010-17: Revenue Recognition – Milestone Method
    • 2010 and 2011 Proposed ASU: Revenue Recognition: Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Contributing author with the development of internal and external firm guidance on revenue recognition, building a successful cloud provider service, implementation of new accounting standards, liabilities and equity, share- based payments and IFRS.
  • Frequent speaker at the SEC Institute, Practicing Law Institute, Financial Executive International, Dreamforce and various other venues.
