Polina is a Privacy and Marketing Attorney at Uber. At Uber she works on regulatory investigations, training, Privacy by Design and compliance efforts for CAN SPAM, TCPA, CASL, Section 5 and various FTC guidelines. She also works with various teams to ensure adherence to data security best practices as well as educates stakeholders in the company about data ethics. Her Marketing Law work involves creating processes for marketing review and substantiation, as well as standardization across various teams; playbooks on UDAP requirements and best practices. She also counsels teams on cross-device tracking, micro-targeting, segmentation,  and NAI and DAA principles. She advises teams about privacy and marketing issues that arise out of omni-channel media advertising, content review and data usage.

Prior to working at Uber, Polina was Privacy and Law Enforcement Compliance Counsel at Apple, where aside from Privacy by Design, M&A and privacy compliance advising, she worked on 4th Amendment Search & Seizure Issues, ECPA, Cal ECPA, CALEA and other hot topics of law enforcement compliance in the aftermath of the PRISM leaks.

Polina graduated from William & Mary Law School and prior to pursuing her JD, she was an Investigator of Police Misconduct in the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board, where her love of the law, the US constitution and specifically, the 4th Amendment was awakened.

When she’s not working, she travels, swims, hikes and cuddles with her husband and cats.
