Pierre Cardin

Senior Vice President, Group Export Compliance Officer

Mr. Pierre Cardin was appointed as Head of the Group Export Compliance Office for Airbus Group in 2011. In this position Mr. Cardin is based at the Airbus Group offices in Ottobrunn (Munich, Germany). Mr. Cardin has been working for Airbus Group and its predecessor companies for more than 20 years.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Cardin was the group's General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for North America based in Washington DC for 8 years. Before moving to the U.S.  he held several positions within EADS Corporate Legal department in Paris and worked as General Counsel for the group’s satellite company, known at the time as Matra Marconi Space. Prior to his in-house experience, Mr. Cardin practiced in law firms in Montreal and Paris.

Born and educated in Canada, Mr. Cardin is a standing member of the Quebec Bar and was also registered as in-house counsel at the Virginia State Bar. He has law diplomas from the Universite de Sherbrooke (Quebec) and from the Universite de Paris 1 (Sorbonne-Pantheon).

While in the U.S., he was a nominee in 2010 for General Counsel of the Year by the International Law Office (ILO) in cooperation with the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in New York. In 2014 Mr. Cardin was appointed as Ambassador of the Law Faculty of Universite de Sherbrooke. Distinction granted by the University of Sherbrooke for alumis that achieved exceptional careers and serve as example for the students of the Faculty.
