Payal Dalal, LMSW, Co-Director, Queens Practice & Social Work Supervisor, joined CFR in 2008 and has been responsible for supervision of social work staff and interns, providing training and technical assistance to related organizations and participating in policy initiatives around the City. She is currently working on the Young Parents Project at CFR, which focuses on the interdisciplinary representation of parents 21 and under and aims to better understand the needs of the population. Prior to joining CFR, Ms. Dalal was the Associate Director of Fordham University’s Interdisciplinary Center for Family & Child Advocacy, a combined initiative of the University’s Law School and Graduate School of Social Service, where she worked with advocates to develop best practices around issues affecting at-risk children and families. Ms. Dalal also worked for New York City’s Children’s Services as a child protective specialist and later Director of Circle of Support, a network of community-based support groups for foster and adoptive parents in NYC. Ms. Dalal has taught as an adjunct professor in Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service where she also received her MSW in 2003.
