Patrick McGovern

Patrick McGovern is Senior Litigation Counsel at McDonald's Corporation. At McDonald's, Mr. McGovern primarily manages commercial litigation, and his duties include risk assessment, investigations, and business counseling. Prior to joining McDonald's, Mr. McGovern served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago, where he represented the United States in federal criminal cases such as fraud, public corruption, and money laundering.  As a federal prosecutor, he managed grand jury investigations, successfully conducted a dozen jury trials, and argued numerous appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  Mr. McGovern also previously served as an attorney for the City of Chicago, where he represented the Chicago Police Department and city officials in litigation and at trial. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. McGovern served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Charles R. Norgle of the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. McGovern is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago's law school and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a degree in Accounting.
