PATRICIA A. MARTONE is the President of the Law Office of Patricia A. Martone, P.C., a firm which she established in 2014, where she consults on patent disputes and patent licensing. For 2015, her firm has received national and regional rankings from Best Law Firms in three areas, including intellectual property litigation—patent and patent law. For the previous thirty years, she was a partner in major law firms, most recently at Morrison & Foerster LLP, from which she retired at the end of December, 2013. Throughout this period, she specialized in the trials of high-profile patent cases in technologies ranging from electronics to life sciences. . She has tried twelve cases to a judgment or verdict, including playing a major role in obtaining Polaroid Corporation’s one-billion-dollar judgment against Eastman Kodak for patent infringement. Ms. Martone has served as lead trial counsel in over forty-five patent infringement cases for technology leaders ranging from Global Fortune 500 companies to small research and development companies. Ms. Martone has a B.A. in chemistry from New York University, an M.A. in chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University, and a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law. She is an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York University School of Law, and a frequent author, speaker, and media commentator on intellectual property issues. She is perennially ranked as a leader in her field by organizations such as Chambers Global, Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who Legal, and Legal 500. Ms. Martone is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society.
