Pallab Chakraborty

Oracle
Director of eDiscovery
Redwood City, CA, USA

Pallab Chakraborty joined Oracle in August 2008 as Director off e-Discovery, and is responsible for Oracle's e-Discovery strategy and implementation. He worked with several internal teams to understand the impact of discovery and prepared a roadmap to decrease the burden. He is now implementing key pieces of the roadmap. Pallab works with various product teams to ensure that Oracle's solutions to help enterprises deal with exponentially rising information are e-Discovery ready. He also advises the team implementing these solutions inside Oracle.

Pallab worked at Cisco Systems from 2000 till he joined Oracle. He was responsible for e-Discovery operations and strategy. Cisco's e-Discovery model included indexing key document repositories and collecting most relevant data over the network, followed by processing and hosting inside the firewall. Reviewers visited the in-house review room or logged into the network to conduct most of the review. Tight control over key phases of discovery resulted in quick turnaround times and significantly reduced expenses. Before e-Discovery, Pallab was responsible for technology solutions to automate various legal processes. One of his key accomplishments was the design and deployment of Cisco's Click Accept platform, which automated several dozen processes like service contracts, employment agreements, FCPA and Sarbannes-Oxley approvals, and registered millions of transactions.

Prior to association with legal technology and e-Discovery, Pallab developed commercial and enterprise software products for the international markets. He holds Bachelors and Masters of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He is currently pursuing his JD/MBA degree from Santa Clara University.
