Monica Stamm joined the Joint Commission on Public Ethics in 2012 as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Counsel.  Prior to joining JCOPE, Monica Stamm served as the Chief of Staff for the Office of the New York State Inspector General from 2011 to 2012.  Ms. Stamm previously worked in the Public Integrity Bureau of the New York Attorney General’s Office for six years, serving as Deputy Chief from 2007-2011.  Ms. Stamm received a Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award for outstanding service in 2008.  Prior to her career in public service, Ms. Stamm was a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.  Ms. Stamm received her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where she was a Managing Editor of the Columbia Law Review, and she received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University.  She served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Juan Torruella of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and Judge U.W. Clemon of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
