Mona Papillon is a Senior Attorney-Advisor and Special Assistant to Chair Jacqueline Berrien at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  She currently serves as an advisor on a broad range of employment issues and assists the Chief Operating Officer in the overall management and oversight of the operations of the Commission.  She previously served as Senior Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Legal Counsel for Advice and External Litigation.  In addition to her operational portfolio, Ms. Papillon is active in the President's Interagency Task Force against Trafficking and coordinated the Commission's meeting on Trafficking issues in January 2011.

Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Papillon was a litigator in the labor and employment group at Akin, Gump, Hauer and Feld.  

Ms. Papillon was recently detailed to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau where she assisted in the standing up of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) under its first Director, Stuart Ishimaru. 

Ms. Papillon earned her Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations in 1994 from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.  She earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1998 from Columbia University Law School.
